The jostaberry (Ribes × nidigrolaria) is a unique, thornless hybrid berry shrub developed in Germany by crossing the black currant with the coastal black gooseberry and European gooseberry. It is prized by gardeners for its vigor, disease resistance, and delicious, nutrient-rich fruit.

Appearance: A large, vigorous, and upright shrub that typically grows 4 to 7 feet tall. It has glossy, deep green foliage and is entirely thornless.
