The Hwi (sometimes called a Dahomean saber) is a traditional, ceremonial prestige sword from the Fon people of the former Kingdom of Dahomey, now modern-day Benin in West Africa. Historically, they served as badges of rank for high-ranking court dignitaries and were famously associated with the elite "Ahosi" (Dahomean Amazon) female warrior troops.
