A Lobi Bateba figure is a traditional wooden or clay sculpture created by the Lobi people, who reside across Burkina Faso, Ghana, and the Ivory Coast. Rather than being viewed as mere decorative artwork, these figures are considered by the Lobi to be living, conscious beings capable of acting on behalf of their owners to ward off witchcraft, disease, and evil forces.
