African Dan Passport Masks, traditionally known as ma go (meaning "small head"), are miniature wooden sculptures created by the Dan people of northeastern Liberia and western Côte d'Ivoire. Measuring between one and four inches, these palm-sized artifacts are never meant to be worn on the face. Instead, they function as portable spiritual conduits, personal protective amulets, and traditional tokens of tribal identity.
