The African Byongi (or Ikakalaka) ceremonial sword is an iconic, highly ornamental status symbol originating from the Ekonda (Konda) people of the central Congo Basin (DR Congo). Highly prized by collectors, these swords feature flamboyant, calligraphic iron blades with elaborate cutouts, hooks, and spurs.
