The Salampasu warrior mask (kasangu or mukinka) originates from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Used by the Mugongo warrior society, the mask is characterized by a bulging forehead, protruding triangular nose, and sharp, filed teeth. They are typically carved from wood and covered in copper strips.
