A Kingdom of Benin carved bone leopard pendant (or hip ornament) is a rare and historically significant artifact from the historic Kingdom of Benin, located in present-day Nigeria. In Edo culture, the leopard is the ultimate symbol of royal power, majesty, and the Oba's (king's) dominion over both the settled land and the untamed bush.
