The Ogoni Karikpo Antelope Mask is a distinct zoomorphic face mask hand-carved by the Ogoni people of the Niger Delta and Cross River regions in southeastern Nigeria. Known natively as Karikpo, these masks primarily depict stylized, agile animals—most famously the antelope—and are recognized by their triangular structures and sweeping, spiraling horns. Unlike many other African ritual masks, the Karikpo mask is celebrated for its direct association with highly athletic, acrobatic masquerade performances.
